Inspired by the "What card is worst for you?" thread.
I currently have an 8.98% favor for Intrigue, but play at -6.58% with Cornucopia, -5.96% with Base, and -3.66% with Prosperity. My promo favor is an astounding 15.92%. Hinterlands, Seaside, and Alchemy are 2.06%, 1.48%, and .78%. It feels weird, because IRL I purchased the sets in the following order: Base, Prosperity, Cornucopia, Seaside, Alchemy, Hinterlands, Promos, albeit all within a fairly short time period of each other. This is a mystery I just haven't been able to figure out.
What expansions do you play best with and why do you think that is?
-
For favor against I have:
-3.58 Base
-3.63 Hinterlands
-4.36 Prosperity
-7.75 Alchemy
-20.95 Promo
For favor for I have:
5.46 Seaside
8.22 Intrigue
9.44 Cornucopia
This comes as a surprise to me. I personally only own Base, Seaside, and Prosperity! Intrigue is my favorite expansion, and have played it irl, so that makes sense, but I never play with Cornucopia except for on isotropic! I'm not good with Potions, don't know how to use most of the promos, and have never played with Hinterlands irl, so I'm not too surprised about those stats.
Huh. I thought I was better with Seaside. Can't argue with the facts though.
-
My best set is Base, with 13.01% favor - that may be all the newbs I introduce, and then beat. Intrigue is 3.70% and Hinterlands is 1.45%, and all the rest are negative. Cornucopia is worst at -17.59% - lower even than the Promos (-15.10%).
-
Intrigue 1.58%
Seaside 1.19%
Cornucopia 1.01%
Hinterlands 0.95%
Dominion .14%
Alchemy -0.48%
Prosperity -2.82%
Promo -4.68%
No surprised there for me. I don't like Colony, hate most of the Promo cards, and just started getting better with Alchemy. I adore Hinterlands and wish it were a bit higher, but Intrigue is the set I've owned the longest and also my second favorite.
-
My alt account had a staggering 15% favoring the promos, but it's been fluctuating between 9 and 13 now.
-
It'd be interesting to see across all iso players what favors all the expansions have, divided by ranks. For example, do mid and high level players play better with seaside? Worse with Hinterlands? etc.
-
Prosperity -0.37%
Dominion 1.61%
Seaside -0.26%
Hinterlands 2.23%
Intrigue -0.58%
Alchemy -0.27%
Cornucopia -3.13%
Promotional -5.46%
I kind of expected the promo cards to be my worst since I hate black market and it took me a long time to get used to envoy, but I had no idea I was doing poorly with Cornucopia. It makes sense that Hinterlands would be my best since I do well with IGG, haggler, embassy, and apparently cache. I probably do well with the base set since it's the only one I actually own. Apparently thief has my 2nd highest winrate, with feast (somehow) and chapel up there, too.

We do have a thread on this already, although it's hidden in councilroom feedback: http://forum.dominionstrategy.com/index.php?topic=1821.msg28932#msg28932
I am by far the best with Alchemy and terrible at Cornucopia, Intrigue, and Promo:
Alchemy 0.93 1.20 5.39%
Dominion 1.82 1.16 1.84%
Hinterlands 0.73 1.16 1.81%
Prosperity 2.15 1.16 1.57%
-----------
Seaside 1.89 1.12 -1.64%
Cornucopia 0.45 1.10 -3.91%
Intrigue 1.80 1.10 -3.98%
Promotional 0.24 1.10 -4.18%
-
From best to worst:
Promotional 3.81%
Cornucopia 1.91%
Alchemy 1.30%
Intrigue 0.62%
Prosperity 0.31%
Seaside 0.05%
...
Dominion -1.24%
Hinterlands -3.50%
Promos are my best! Which is really weird since Governor is one of my worst cards. But everything else is above-average, and Walled Village and Black Market are both among my best cards, so it cancels out.
Besides that, it's no surprise that Cornucopia (my favorite) is my best real set and Hinterlands (my least favorite) is my worst; also I'm not surprised to see Alchemy up there (mainly on the back of Scrying Pool, Vineyard, and Transmute) and the base set near the bottom (yawn, BM-Smithy). Intrigue over Prosperity and Seaside is a little surprising, but they're all pretty close.
-
Dominion 2.09%
Seaside 0.88%
Prosperity 0.09%
Intrigue -0.06%
Promotional -1.01%
Hinterlands -1.21%
Cornucopia -1.33%
Alchemy -1.60%
Apparently I'm just not very good at Dominion outside the core set ;_;
-
Cornucopia 6.17%
Promotional 2.91%
Prosperity 1.26%
Dominion 0.75%
Seaside -1.28%
Intrigue -1.40%
Alchemy -1.51%
Hinterlands -3.70%
Apparently I like variety and expensive cards, and dislike on-gain effects and potions. The first and last of those don't surprise me.
-
Alchemy 14.49%
Seaside 10.50%
Cornucopia 6.31%
Promotional 0.06%
Intrigue -1.63%
Hinterlands -3.19%
Prosperity -3.24%
Dominion -7.36%
The only one I'm not surprised about is Seaside, as I've always loved these cards. Very surprised that my Alchemy is so high, but when there are certain cards on the table I'm pretty much guaranteed to grab them. And apparently I never focused on the base set as much as I should've...
-
Prosperity 1.48%
Dominion 1.97%
Seaside 1.49%
Intrigue 1.25%
Hinterlands -5.59%
Alchemy -2.06%
Cornucopia -3.99%
Promotional 3.95%
pretty even actually, only hinterlands dropping out a bit
-
Prosperity -3.93%
Intrigue 9.52%
Dominion -6.22%
Seaside -4.58%
Alchemy 13.08%
Hinterlands 0.62%
Cornucopia -8.15%
Promotional 5.09%
not good at anything but alchemy and intrigue :? dont have favor for the whole alchemy, just for some cards there :?
-
Promotional 5.79%
Cornucopia 5.19%
Alchemy 3.70%
Prosperity 2.30%
Intrigue 0.66%
Hinterlands -0.96%
Dominion -3.61%
Seaside -3.93%
So, (Besides the promos) I am good at:
What! Cornucopia? I hate that expansion! Huh
Alchemy, not surprising.
Prosperity. Thought that would be at the top.
Intrigue. Thought that would be higher.
Bad at:
Hinterlands
Dominion
Seaside!?! wow.

I'm surprised to see how much variation some people have. Hinterlands is the standard combination of "aargh, it's new!" and playing better opponents recently. Promo I might be able to pin on Governor if it isn't just a small sample problem.

I think people who have high variation have likely not played as many games.

I've played almost 2000 games, it's definitely not only that.
-
CR stats say mine seem more balanced than some others here. I think though a lot of this is biased by my early games.
Alchemy: 3.48%, with 1.06 avg. cards per kingdom and 1.14 weighted win points
Base: 2.95%, 1.75 avg, 1.13 WWP
Seaside: 2.92%, 1.46 avg, 1.13 WWP
Hinterlands: -0.77%, 1.49 avg, 1.09 WWP
Cornucopia: -1.61%, 0.75 avg, 1.08 WWP
Intrigue: -2.35%, 1.43 avg, 1.07 WWP
Prosperity: -3.51%, 1.81 avg, 1.06 WWP
Promo: -4.10%, 0.25 avg, 1.05 WWP
-
Prosperity -0.54%
Seaside -0.73%
Dominion 1.08%
Intrigue 0.73%
Alchemy -1.25%
Hinterlands -1.67%
Cornucopia 2.97%
Promotional -0.18%
I would imagine were it not for Hunting Party, the Cornucopia effect would be significantly diminished.
-
I seem to have very flat play across the expansions. Alchemy is my worst. From that, my worst is Apothecary--which I don't feel I've ever successfully used--and my best is Possession, which I seem to mostly understand when to avoid.
Prosperity 0.65%
Seaside -0.36%
Dominion 0.54%
Intrigue -0.69%
Hinterlands 0.81%
Alchemy -1.42%
Cornucopia -0.43%
Promotional 0.31%
Edit: This is after 1255 games, 80% played post-Hinterlands.
