This is going to be a more informal challenge; because I don't plan on doing a bunch and tracking points, etc. But hopefully people will still be interested in trying it out because it sounds like fun (to me at least. ;D)
1. End the game with 8 Provinces in your deck.
2. After turns 1 and 2, you may not play a Treasure card.
3. You must not have any Treasure in your deck at the end of the game.
Do this in as few turns as possible.
And since I just now realized that all the solutions for "No Buys Allowed" work here as well, we'll go ahead and throw on one more stipulation:
4. You cannot gain any cards other than by buying them.
Feel free to post your answers and thoughts here, since this is an informal puzzle.

These two restraints make it a bit difficult to get started. Here is an extremely unoptimized attempt:

My own thoughts (having not actually even tried this yet).
I think you have to start with 5/2 to have a good chance here. Open Mandarin / Festival. (And yes, to be completely technical, you have to have 5/2 and not 2/5 for this to work). From there; get a Chapel asap. Trash all Coppers and Estates when you can; buy a second Festival (or Conspirator maybe). At this point you can just start buying Grand Markets / King's Courts every turn, until you have enough to buy all the Provinces.

Unless I'm missing an obvious rule, this seems to be along the lines of the fastest way to meet the requirements:

Well done; I completely forgot about Horse Traders.

Open Vault/Secret Chamber, then buy Hunting Parties and Grand Markets until you can start buying Provinces.
-
I thought about Baron, but I think tlloyd have the solution. Vault both has drawing power and gives the most +$.

I think dondon's solution above is going to be faster than tlloyd's.

I'll post up my 11 turns on Sunday if nobody can get 10 before then. 10 is certainly possible.

I swapped out Secret Chamber for Chapel (duh!) and got there in 9 turns (ignoring the first four while I waited to draw $5 or $2): http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201205/04/game-20120504-212057-4e0bd7e3.html
By the way, the first time I started a solitaire game to try this challenge, I didn't draw $5/$2 until turn 55! I think that's a personal record.

The probability of that happening is about 0.7%. Good job! :P

Logs or it didn't happen.
I just had 45 turns until drawing $5/$2. I'll post the log once Geronimoo's Governor's Ball solo challenge is finished.

Hey! My feelings are hurt. :'( .... ;)

Did happen, no log. Unless Councilroom records solitaire games...

Funny, I've always resigned on turn one, then started a new game... It's relatively quick, but 1001 clicks. I never really considered just cycling my deck in one game until I hit the split I want. :-\ :-\ :-\

That is a good idea. I also just resign and wait for the split I want. And it takes FOREVER >:( >:( >:(. I guess you could just tell the host to ignore the extra turns?

Here is the 11 turns I promised. I managed to get 7 provinces on turn 10 with another attempt so that will be possible and probably 9 turns with best draws.

I also managed it in 10 turns.

It occurred to me that Vault -> Grand Market -> King's Court had some nice possibilities.
