Title: ReAlly?
Post by: infangthief on March 04, 2022, 06:30:02 am
So these could go in the RBCI thread. But to go in this thread your Ally has to end in "-ally".

EventuAlly: When you play a Lich, you may spend a Favor to replay it. Repeat as desired.

BrutAlly: At the start of Clean-up, you may spend a Favor to gain a Possession from the Supply or the box.

ActuAlly: You may spend a Favor to undo your last decision.

GlobAlly: At the start of your turn, you may spend a Favor to have the number of Actions, Coins and Buys that the player to your right had at the end of their last buy phase.

TAlly: At the start of the game, you may spend a Favor to keep track of your score on your belly with their own blood this game.

NaturAlly: When you do anything, you may spend a favor to do something else that makes sense instead.

ActuAlly: You may spend a Favor to undo your last decision.
codifying undos as a mechanic seems interesting.

Broker some Colonies and you could rewind the game quite a long way. I think there's a flaw there somewhere.

Here are some more.

OfficiAlly: When you gain a fan card, you may spend a Favor for Donald to include it in the next expansion.

PunctuAlly: When you play a Duration, you may spend a Favor to resolve all its future instructions now instead.

GraduAlly: At the start of your turn, you may spend a Favor to trash a Copper from the Supply.

IdeAlly: During your 13th and 15th turns, you may not play Empires cards unless you spend a Favor.
(Your ally helps you get things done on the Ides of the month.)

Seems like the main weirdness comes when use a favor to undo the decision that got you the favor. Broker a Colony, use favor to undo that, how many favors do you have left?

i don't think so - if you say, play a terminal smithy, then undo it, your last decision is undoing the smithy. So you can be obnoxious and hem/haw with it, but you can't rewind the game further than a single step, right? Because now an in-game undo is a game log'd event.

one fewer than what you started with, to a floor of 0. I think this is actually trivial to give an undo on a game event that gets you a favor.

Surprisingly I got this one.

Perpetually: At the start of Clean-up, you may spend three favor to set aside an Action card you would discard from play this turn. At the start of your next turn play the set aside card.

Rurally: When you get +Action you may spend two favor to reveal cards from your deck until  you reveal a Treasure or Action card. Put that card into your hand and discard the rest.

Annually

At the start of your turn, if you haven't done so this game spend 1 Favor to put one of your cubes onto the current space on the Season (http://forum.dominionstrategy.com/index.php?topic=20842.msg872538#msg872538) mat. Otherwise, spend 2 Favors and if the Season token is on the same space as your cube, +5 Cards.

CasuAlly

When shuffling, you may spend a Favor, to stop after a few overhand shuffles. It's not like this is a tournament game or anything.

Professionally
When you gain a Favor, each player, including you, puts 100 actual dollars on this. At the end of the game, the winner gains all of the money on this.

Digitally
If this is an in-person game, you may spend 5 Favors to move to the online version.

Physically
If this is an online game, you may spend 5 Favors to move to the in-person version.

Originally
When you play a card, you may first spend a Favor to instead play an earlier version of the card mentioned in the Secret Histories.

Well, Actually
Spend 1 Favor to explain to another player how you've been playing Dominion much longer than she has and how she don't really understand the game.

I'm sure there's lots of possibilities for ReAlly. Here's one for mathmos:

ReAlly: When you think of an imaginary card, you may spend a Favor to turn it through 90 degrees. If you do, play it.

HorizontAlly
When you buy an Action or Treasure, you may spend a Favor to follow the card's instructions instead of gaining it.

VerticAlly
When you buy an Event, you may spend two Favors to gain a Vertigo instead of following its instructions.
Quote
Vertigo - $0*
Action

Follow the instructions of any Event in the game.
(This is not in the Supply.)

I was thinking it was a shame there was no red-and-white stripy card. But of course there is, Necropolis! So:

Where's WAlly: At the start of your turn you may spend a Favor to look for a Necropolis. If you find one you may put it into your hand.

RecreationAlly: When told by a teacher, professor, coworker, or boss to “quit playing Dominion and get back to work”, you may spend 5 Favors to ignore them.

ActuAlly: at the start of clean up, if you have the most points, you may spend 2 favors. If you don't each other player gets +1vp.

PenAlly: When another player makes a mistake and starts to move onto playing a buying another card, you may point out their mistake and spend a Favor to have the game continue without any undos and choose one: end their turn abruptly, they trash one of their cards in play that you choose, you get +1VP, or you gain a Gold.

Personally: At the end of the game, if you lost, you may spend 5 Favors for a rematch.
