If my opponent uses Old Witch to curse me, and I use Sleigh's reaction to put that curse in my hand, can I then use Old Witch's curse-trashing to trash that curse, since it's now in my hand? I'm thinking the answer would be yes, because the gaining comes before the trashing, so I gain the curse, and react to said gaining with Sleigh, and then I have the option of trashing a curse from my hand

Sounds right to me! Watchtower would work the same, of course. I can’t remember if there is other precedence that instructions within the same sentence with an “and” still count as 2 separate things that happen one at a time, but I’m pretty sure they do.

No it wouldn't — Watchtower topdecks the gained card rather than putting it in your hand. You can use Watchtower to trash the curse as you gain it, but that's part of the Watchtower card and nothing to do with Old Witch's trashing.

You’re right; I can’t remember what I was thinking or why I even brought up Watchtower.
