Title: Way to submit bad bot games for improvement?
Post by: elahrairah13 on June 24, 2019, 12:49:27 pm
do the folks running shuffle it want feedback if we stumble on a bad bot strategy?

My bot just a) played a masquerade and passed me a province when he had other things he could have passed b) optionally trashed a province to my bishop play to no benefit, twice.

Does the bot attempt to adjust to what you're doing and learn from you? I haven't bought any provinces because I'm fucking with bishops.

Game #27996496, unrated.
me vs lord rattybot
(please don't look at the log and judge my skills, I'm hung over)

Thanks!

Sadly, ShuffleIT appears to be purely in maintenance mode, and other than updating to add cards from new sets (and some accompanying interface changes that came with that), no meaningful work appears to have been done on Dominion Online in more than a year. The bots have no intelligence to them, and even though the creator of Dominion has complained, nothing has changed.

The way to think of it is, there isn't really an AI yet. There is a placeholder bot that has no intelligence to it.

Here is ShuffleIT's forum, but I doubt posting there will do any good: http://forum.shuffleit.nl/

Thanks!

I was startled because I didn't think I'd seen it do anything this bad since I started playing shuffle it a few weeks back, but maybe I just haven't been paying attention to its nonsense.

The focus for development at the moment is on new sets, interface improvements, and multiplayer play. The bots are basically there as filler, I think.

They are certainly aware of the issues with the bot, the issue isn't that they don't know where it messes up.
