Title: monastery, market square interaction
Post by: ato.gurkan on March 16, 2018, 09:31:37 am
I have question about a situation I encountered today.

If I have a Market Square in my hand when I play a Monastery and trash a card from my hand, I can react with MS and gain a gold. Do I then get to trash an additional card with Monastery, since now I gained one more card in that turn? If so, this is not implemented in the ShuffleIT client. My example game is 12646112, this happened at the end of turn 12.

cheers,

You can't. The number of cards you can trash with Monastery is checked once you've played it.

So let's say you've gained 2 cards this turn. You play Monastery and trash 2 cards, reacting with Market Square. You can't trash a 3rd card because that 3rd card gained happened after that Monastery was played.

I think the answer is no, you can't trash another card, because the number of cards you're allowed to trash is decided when you play the Monastery, and you haven't gained the Gold at that point.

Umm, the answer is in the wiki actually. I should have checked before asking.  :-\
ShuffleIT implementation is correct it seems.
