For me, it was sometime in 2010 or 2011. Someone showed me on meetup, and I was hooked. Later I learned expansions existed, looked them up, and tried iso at some point, roughly around when Hinterlands came out.
When did you start playing?

According to a post by myself from 2013, I got Dominion as a birthday present in 2011, but I had played two IRL games before that. I don't remember if I got on Iso that year or in 2012.

November 2012. Goko was already around, so I only played about two or three games on iso before it was gone

Hasn't this thread been made somewhere else before? Meh. Too lazy to look it up.
I joined the forum may 2013, was playing on isotropic a while before that. (I joined the forum to play in gokodom) I think I had a good 6 months on iso before it got shut down.

I played a bunch before Intrigue existed, I know that much.

November 2011. Thanksgiving at a friend's house. Introduced to the base game. Got Militia'd to death.

I started playing in 2009, when I was introduced to it at a "camp" for board games.

I joined the forum in June 2011 as the 123rd person here, which seems low to me. I didn't realize how new it was when I joined (or maybe I just don't remember). I'm not sure how long I had played before that, but I had probably played on Iso for a while and lurked a bit before I joined the forum.

Played my first game after another gaming tournament in 2011. Didn't play much more until grad school in 2013. I bumped into Silver Surfer online in 2015 and he introduced me to f.ds. And, well, I've been here ever since!

Played the game for the first time July 2010, I'm pretty sure, and then my then-girlfriend got me the base game and Alchemy for my birthday in November.

I started playing before the release of Intrigue but some people in my gaming group weren't keen and we didn't over play it . It wasn't until I found Isotropic, some time after Seaside, that I started putting more time into the game.

October 2012, some friends from church invited my wife and me over to play and we were instantly hooked.

2011. I was introduced to it by my then future (now ex) brother in law.

I think 2009, but I'm not sure. Certainly I was on isotropic by 2010.

I believe I started playing around when Seaside came out. I remember eagerly anticipating Alchemy's release. (And no, I was not disappointed by Alchemy.)

I played my first game after Christmas 2010, after my sister bought the base game as a present for the family. I then forgot about the game until the following summer, when I "borrowed" that base game, and started accumulating expansions. Cornucopia had already come out by the time I was on iso, but I remember the release of Hinterlands.

First IRL game: December 30, 2008.
I had probably played on BSW before then.

2008, as the base game got released. I was at a convention that focused on euro games. I've seen it played throughout the con, but kept getting sidetracked into trying it out. It was 2am when I did get around to it. There were still copies around. I asked around, and it turned out, there was a table set up, with 1 person who could teach, and 2 others who were also learning 8) We ended up playing 2 games that night/morning, doing First Game and Big Money presets.

December 2011 I bought the base set and the promos Envoy, Black Market, Stash, and Walled Village. I believe this was shortly after Hinterlands released. I slowly filled in my collection over the next few years until I bought Guilds and Prince in 2014. At that point, I owned everything Dominion.
During that time, I didn't necessarily buy then in order. I do remember buying the Base Cards and Dark Ages right when they released, but those were it.
Adventures and forward, I have purchased everything new as it has become available.
I think I discovered Isotropic shortly after my initial investment in paper cards and played there some.
I have played all the official online versions to some extent.
I got into Androminion shortly after I got my first mobile phone in the fall of 2012. Where I have played literally thousands of fully random games.

I think for me it was right around freshman year of high school, which would been 2011 or so. Got introduced by a friend. 6ish years later Dominion still remains one of my favorite board/card games.

Last winter or spring. A friend loaned me the first edition base game and my husband and I got hooked. We purchased the Big Box with the SE Dominion and Intrigue. We call it our empty nest hobby. We have purchased all the expansions currently available. Just received Dark Ages today. I'm very glad we got it before Nocturne comes out. We played Adventures before Seaside and the Seaside durations seemed kind of bland!
I've never played online. My husband tried a few bot games but did not venture beyond that.

I pre-ordered Dominion when it first started making news on BGG in 2008. Played the hard copies of it, Intrigue, Seaside, and Prosperity regularly with my gaming buddies until they all moved away. Played fairly often on BSW and iso, even (and still have) Androminion. Then took a long hiatus as kids and family events took all my time. Just now getting back into it. My kids are now old enough to play it and enjoy it, though still a little young to understand all the nuances.

First time was sometime between December 2010 and June 2011. I was dating a girl at the time whose brother had the game after his roommate introduced it to him. We played a few games and I loved it. I looked for it a few times but couldn't remember the name and nothing in stores triggered my memory. I forgot about it for a while until November 2016 when I told a few family members to get me the base game and a few expansions for Christmas. Since then I have gotten all but cornucopia/guilds. Looking forward to it being reprinted and the release of Nocturne currently. I also got my wife into playing it with me and have played the base and early expansions with my brother and his wife a few times when we got together.

I'm a newbie.
Bought the base game a little over a year ago, and played it for the first time not long before that.
I actually heard about it in a review of a different deckbuilder, where the reviewers compared the game to dominion. I played at least four deckbuilders before being exposed to dominion.
This goes to show how new I am to paying attention to board games past Magic the Gathering, which I have played off and on since 1994.
