Title: Adventures 2E is out
Post by: Donald X. on August 03, 2017, 02:46:37 am
The new printing of Adventures started shipping a month ago. So some places will have it; I know Amazon in particular does.

As with other second editions it has improved fonts and layout and stuff. Of course the special interest here is regular, non-bendy cards.

Hmmmmm maybe I'll get this reprint.

Is there any way to identify the updated edition (2E) from online descriptions (i.e. by a different ASIN or Item model number on Amazon or a different UPC)?

Amazon.com (https://www.amazon.com/Rio-Grande-Games-501RGG-Adventures/dp/B00TF7YMVW) currently lists Dominion: Adventures with "ASIN B00TF7YMVW" and "Item model number 501RGG". These are the same as in 2015 (according to archive.org (https://web.archive.org/web/20150404080034/https://www.amazon.com/Rio-Grande-Games-501RGG-Adventures/dp/B00TF7YMVW)). Amazon also gives no UPC.

It doesn't seem like the product information has been updated to the new edition on RGG (http://riograndegames.com/Game/1285-Dominion-Adventures). It has "UPC: 655132005104" which is the same as in 2015 (archive.org (https://web.archive.org/web/20150303053451/http://riograndegames.com:80/Game/1285-Dominion-Adventures))

I don't believe so.

Any random entity may still have old copies for a while. It's even possible that a place will get new copies, then find some old copies they had sitting on a shelf somewhere. The way to be completely sure is to buy a copy in person and look at the back of the box (For the magical reference to the first edition of Intrigue).

When Jay thinks of it. You could remind him personally.

The new printing of Treasury seems to be missing its dividing line...

You are correct, that's a mistake.

Damn, I wish I'd caught that. I missed it both in the file that went to Matthias and the image itself.

At least it doesn't actually matter on Treasury. It's fine for the effect to be set up on-play.

Does that mean the way treasury works with enchantress is changing?

Wait, is this different from First Edition? Or was First Edition also a mistake? According to the Wiki images, First Edition doesn't have a dividing line either (which would mean that it's ability to go on the deck would be ruined by Enchantress).

There's also an image with the line, which says it's from second edition, but I don't know where that came from, since second edition doesn't actually have that line.

Treasury is not changing, it just has a misprint of a missing dividing line.

The wiki already has scans of the second edition. You can see a scan of the first edition, complete with dividing line, here: http://dominion.diehrstraits.com/?set=Seaside

Ok, looks like the Wiki just has it listed wrong; they show the version without the line as First Edition.

The wiki is in the midst of being overhauled.  Please pardon the mess in the interim.

Another small thing - it looks like the new print of Distant Lands does not have the (http://wiki.dominionstrategy.com/images/thumb/9/92/VP.png/16px-VP.png) amounts bolded:

It should be 4(http://wiki.dominionstrategy.com/images/thumb/9/92/VP.png/16px-VP.png) and 0(http://wiki.dominionstrategy.com/images/thumb/9/92/VP.png/16px-VP.png), but it looks like they're just 4(http://wiki.dominionstrategy.com/images/thumb/9/92/VP.png/16px-VP.png) and 0(http://wiki.dominionstrategy.com/images/thumb/9/92/VP.png/16px-VP.png).

If anyone has found a store (online or brick & mortar) that has copies of Dominion: Adventures second printing/version in stock, please post the name of the store here. They'll get my business.

I have called/emailed many stores (about 10, both online and local ones) and none have it yet. The stores also haven't taken up my gentle suggestion to ask for the second printing from their distributor.
I also ordered from Amazon.com (when the price was good last week) and ended up with a first printing (that I returned).

I feel like Adventures 2E is "out there" like the X-Files motto: "The truth is out there" - https://static1.gamespot.com/uploads/original/1338/13388005/3067765-1562140435-The%2Bt.jpg
