I think the best plan here is to go for Alchemists, and especially if your opponent does not, get Gladiators and name Alchemist or Potion, correct?

This looks like an alchemist thing as you can salvage down, buy some alchemists, get a relic and horns of plenty into play each turn, patricians and emporium suit that, plus you can compete in a variety of end games.

There's Gladiator so you go for the engine.

Is Gladiator really that good?

No, but Fortune is.

Salvager might outpace Fortune if you end up able to salvage provinces to accelerate, not sure though.

HoP is a million times better than Fortune there.

Are you going patrician to get HOP to provinces?

Yes, it's no problem: Alchemist/Potion/Patrician/Emp/Salvager/Relic/Copper/HoP, could have Gold or something if you run out of Coppers. Probably open with a Silver actually, so you don't need Gold.

I would be thrilled if my opponent bought a Gladiator.

Here gladiator is as bad as opening bishop as opponents thins more with 4 extra plays of salvager and could get fortune same turn, extra gold doesn't make much difference.

Trashing all coppers with salvager is hard here, game will likely be over before that.I would also go hop but I am bit concerned with draw. for megaturn. There is margrave which means only 3 alchemists topdecked one is cantrip due relic and ranger doesn't look hot.

I am thinking about opening salvager/silver to thin more and early fives and probably get same number of alchemists or 4 in worst case.

I would open Salvager + Silver looking to get Potion + Relic/HoP on turn 3+4.  Alchemists are great, Patricians are good, HoPs can gain Emporiums and HoPs.  At some point, it probably makes sense to gain a Margrave and play that instead of the Salvager.  The Margrave + Relic attack seems pretty great.  If Fortune gets revealed, grab it for sure.  If not, I'd expect the game to end on piles (Alchemist, Patrician/Emporium, HoP?).  The player who can play the most HoPs each turn will be able to set themselves up for the win.  If you aren't mirrored, you should be able to get enough draw for a HoP Province megaturn.

Margave + Relic is good. So no Potion/Silver opening? Wow, I completely overlooked HoP here.
