What are your favorite cards (or events/landmarks), and why? We had a similar topic two years ago (http://forum.dominionstrategy.com/index.php?topic=13405.msg498414#msg498414), but a lot of new cards have come out (and become available online) since then. My top 10:
Villa: to me, this is the most unique and mind-bending card in Dominion.
Black Market: adds so much variety and crazy situations to the game.
Watchtower: rewards a player who can utilize its many synergies. Elegant design.
Menagerie: requires work to set up but has great potential. Perfectly embodies Cornucopia.
Tactician: I love double Tactician decks, and even a single Tactician shows that one great turn is often better than two regular turns.
Enchantress: The flavor is perfect, and it discourages strategies focused on a single action card.
Crown: one of the most flexible cards in the game, and being an Action-Treasure causes many interesting interactions.
Procession: It can be incredibly powerful, but requires a lot of care to use correctly.
Transmogrify: kick-starting your engine, milling Provinces, getting rid of Estates, Transmogrify can do it all! .
Castles: a pile that has 8 different cards in it, and works!
Honorable Mention: Counterfeit, Courtier, Replace

As I've said before, Herald is my favorite card.
- Functionally, it is an important engine card, and engines are the core of Dominion strategy nowadays. It can function as both the Village and the draw part in an engine, meaning it is one of the better engine cards out there.
- It's strong, but not overpowered. It's not an (almost) complete engine all by itself, like Governor or Minion, leaving you willing to utilize a variety of other cards.
- There is an element of suspense attached to it. The revealing of a card whenever you play it is exciting; will it be an Action card or not?
- The Herald cascade is the most satisfying thing in the Dominion universe. If every second card of your deck is a Herald, your deck will play itself immediately. Sexy. Vassal and Golem can function in the same way, but Vassal needs the deck to be nothing but Vassals and Golem can't play itself.
Other cards in my top 10 include Prince, Haunted Woods, Feodum, Counting House, and a couple of others I'm forgetting and I'm to lazy to look them up right now.

I'd guess there are 5 others

You'd be correct. I have a top 30 topic somewhere. If I were posting on a normal computer I'd be looking it up right now.

Wine Merchant, Giant = new cards that are sometimes hard to use, but when they work well are really fun.
Inheritance is my favorite Event by a long shot.
New Base/Intrigue cards: Mill, Sentry, Secret Passage.
I have recently started to like some pretty average (average in that I wasn't too thrilled with them, not because they are necessarily average in strength) cards a lot more: Sage, Loan, Butcher, Amulet.
Haven't played Empires yet though.

I still regard Laboratory as one of my favorites, oldie but goodie
Wharf
Peddler, just because I love it when I can grab a whole bunch at once
Cultist - So sue me...
Stables - for the same reasons I like Lab
Summon - best art ever
-
Storyteller. Easily my favorite card in the game. Turns the game on its head in some sense. I still fondly remember the first time a friend crushed me with Storyteller/Bank.

farmer's market might be my favorite empire

Coppersmith is still living in my heart...
Overall I like cards with a bonus that only in specific conditions : Menagerie, Baron, Wishing Well...
I feel a burning love Develop - building engines with develop (with sometimes the help of something like King's court) is so satisfying. Also, I like the tricks we can do with the top-deck effect.
Adventures is still too new for me, but I love the events that adds bonus to a card (lost arts, pathfinding, seaway, training) and plan. Also, Guide and Transmogrify because they can save an otherwise really bad turn.
I have to name also Horn of plenty, Rats, Forge, Tactician, Island, Procession, Highway and other I'm forgetting.

Developing a gold in like King's Court-Market on the top of your deck is pretty great.

No mention of Stonemason?
I'm a big fan of 3-pile endings, and Stonemason is such a good enabler for it. Overpay to get good cards early. Late game, pull some crazy surprises with the on-play plus overpay to gain like 10 or more cards in one turn for the 3-pile. So many Stonemason games end like that, many with my victory.
I still really like Steward, as it exemplifies my favourite play style: Engine, but with a skew towards gaining good cards over having a really thin deck really fast as Chapel lets you do.
