Title: Any of you ever go to magfest?
Post by: rrenaud on January 10, 2017, 03:07:43 pm
I went this weekend and it was super fun.  All kinds of gamer nerds show up.  So many games.  So much fun.

I'd highly recommend it if you are in the vague vicinity of Washington DC.

Sounds fun!  Alas, wrong side of the country.

have gone before i moved to the west coast, and apparently it's only gotten better since then.  the best video-game convention in the US, period

I've gone to the last three and honestly didn't have a great time at this last one. But that's mostly because I wasn't able to meet up with my friends very often for various reasons, and none of them were interested in board games. But also only a small number of panels and bands appealed to me this year.

I'm moving to the west coast this year so this year's MAGfest was my last probably.

Never. But I would love to be able to attend this event.

Ditto... I don't go anymore now that I'm far from local.  Before, it was nice to carpool 30 an hour to the place, and split $10 or so parking 4 ways.

When I was in the area, for every 12 board gaming events, there would only be 1 video gaming one.  As such, I prioritized video games, and MAGFest being primarily video games was THE place to do that.
