his drudgery was symbolically represented in the amount of times you had to click the coin token button
this is a strong and fun card. it is generally good whenever you have cards that you would like to not have and instead have a different and perhaps (but not necessarily) more expensive card. in terms of brute force, it only produces $2, and thus isn't typically a good sole payload (other than perhaps milling provinces), which makes it more interesting. butcher is neat and goodcool.
-isn't butcher such a cool guy? (yes)
-isn't it so fun when you have some sort of deck that finagles butcher as its payload in conjunction with something else? (yes)
-isn't its interaction with other coin token things (both thematically and otherwise) the funnest thing? (yes)

It is my favourite Remodel variant.
Also, 2 Coin tokens isn't that bad in itself given that 3 Coin tokens would probably be too much for a 5$.

Butcher is so clutch. Among the coolest cards in dominion! Very often useful and it feels great anytime you do something cool with it. Almost a must-buy.

It's rare that you can go wrong with at least one Butcher. It can even do fun stuff like turn a Province into another Province while giving me coin tokens to help buy another Province on the same turn.

The card is great, but the poor butcher's head is pretty strange.

It amazes me how many people fail to realize you can trash without spending the coins that turn. Too many people use it like a Remodel/Farmland (which it is fine for that but is usually better for collecting coins for later).

trashing copper into copper is also popular

If you trash a card, you must gain a card, though. Trashing a Copper and gaining a Copper doesn't usually make sense, since that's a -$1. Better not to trash a card at all then, and I agree that is something people fail to realize you can do.
