Title: Untested and Unnamed Card Idea

When you play, gain, or trash this, gain a card costing up to $5 and take <1> for every $ it cost.

Treasure

Note: <> means debt.

What do you suppose I should name this? Is it too weak or too strong, or neither?

Version 2:

When you play, gain, or trash this, gain an Action card costing up to $5 and take <1> for every $2 it cost (rounded down).
Cost: $3

This is basically just a less flexible Capital. I think it would work okay though.

Really weak.  Maybe better as event costing two?

It can instantly drain itself, which could be a problem. With Watchtower in hand, you could instantly drain 2 piles.

How about if I remove the on-trash effect and make it only give a debt for every $2 the gained card cost? Would that make it strong enough and fix the instant-drain problem?

Well the on gain is what gives it the instant drain. Maybe limit the gain to action cards; that fixes potentially being too good with cost reducers, and the instant gain problem.
