Title: The Greatest Card -- FIRST ROUND Voting Now Open
Post by: Orange on October 24, 2016, 08:52:39 am
You have three days to select the winner of each of these matchups.  (Voting will end sometime Wednesday night.)  There were 31 cards nominated, so I picked a 32nd to fill out the bracket.  Seeding of cards tied for nominating votes was done randomly.  Just post the 16 winners in a list please, with any commentary outside of your list.  Use whatever criteria you like to select the "greater" card/event of the two.

In what universe did artificer make the cut?

There were 31 cards with nominations.  32 makes for a nice bracket.  So I included Artificer which one nominee had on a list of 11 before I asked him to cut one.  So it had no actual votes but there it is.  It will be gone after this round so you will be able to sleep well.

Sounds like a conspiracy.  Artificergate.

I often use Steed's +2 Coins instead of +2 Actions. I used the Silver thing exactly once. I think it's probably better than I think.

I've used all combinations of cards, actions, and coins pretty often.  I used Trusty Steed for the Silvers in a Feodum game.  It was great.

I nominated Artificer. I plan on writing an article on it, I think it is one of the best Adventures cards.

Do people ever use trusty see *not* as a lost city?

In a Feodum game.

Also, the +2 coin is a decent option in games with lots of actions or draw.

All these Steed over Ambassador votes are baffling to me.

Same, with Scrying Pool over Fortune.  Perhaps many people haven't played much Empires yet?

I don't see it being good without draw, but I haven't played Empires yet. Both don't seem like ever-dominant cards to me, although they feel dominant in quite some situations.
