Hello.
Since there are a few of us who live in Kansas City, I thought it would be cool to get together and play Dominion Empires after it releases. Seems like the best place to play around here is Tabletop Games (http://www.tabletopgameandhobby.com/), so that's my proposed location.
I called Tabletop and they don't know when they are getting Empires in, but it's likely to be in soonish. June 11 seemed like a safe bet for getting together to play it. 2PM seemed like a good time to get together, but if anyone can't make that and wants to suggest another time instead, we could probably do something else.
Post here if you're interested! Also, if you can't make this but live in the area and are interested in some other game night, post that too!

It's one big Kansas City. The downtown area is mainly in Missouri, but right on the border. I live on the Missouri side, other people probably live on the Kansas side. Tabletop games is on the Kansas side, but don't worry, there's no border guards or anything.

I'll be bringing all the cards, and I have all 3 sets of base cards (from Dominion/Intrigue/Base Cards), so that should be a pretty solid start.

I'm interested, and I can probably talk my wife into coming. We have family stuff going on, so it's nigh impossible to commit to any weekend (though due to a sick pet, I am staying in town Memorial Day Weekend while my wife is off dealing with a garage sale).
Many thanks to iguanaiguana for remembering I'm in KC and alerting me to this thread. I would have missed it otherwise. Time to subscribe to this puppy.

If I can procure a copy of Empires before this Saturday I would be down for doing something less official that afternoon. iguanaiguana isn't going to be around this weekend though, so our initial plans for this are the following week.
I'm also in the process of putting together a randomizer to use that will be able to work like the online one where you can bias towards an expansion.
Edit: Release date has apparently been updated to the 31st, so getting it before this weekend is looking unlikely. I'll still hold out a small bit of hope that it is still starting to ship on the 25th, and has a chance of showing up earlier than the 31st.

Any chance of forming a Facebook group? I honestly don't read the forums enough (except to dabble in RSP, because I'm a masochist), and I actually will see Facebook postings.
Also, I know some people who may be interested but don't read this forum.

So, the latest delay has RGG shipping to distributors on the 31st. It may not be impossible for TableTop to get copies before the 4th, but Jay's message says that the expected date for them to be in stores is the week of June 6-10, so it is probably very unlikely.
We should probably move this thing at least a week back. I am available for either the 11th or 12th.
If people want to, I'd still be open to playing on the 4th, but we most likely don't have Empires. We could possibly proxy the previewed Landmarks/Events, or even a card or two (my set is sleeved).

Oh yeah, for sure... I didn't communicate well. I'd be open to playing on the 4th in addition to whenever the real Empires thing happens. Though... I guess maybe I should just go to another thing I got invited to on the 4th that I was planning on skipping.

Getting in extra game days is never a bad thing.
If I weren't going out of town that weekend, the 4th would be a great way for me to play those Adventures cards I never played. Come to think of it, I'm not sure I've played with 100% of the Guilds cards. Man, I'm so behind.

My plans for the 11th are up in the air, but it looks like I'll be in town on the 4th after all.
So if there is a Dominion gathering on the 4th, I can be in.
I'll try to remember to post on the FB group when I get to a place to access it.

Thread now on notify so I get emails, since I'm not visiting f.ds that regularly as I"m not in any mafia games.

I talked to TableTop just now, and they said that they have 3 sources and none of them indicate that they have shipped anything yet and they aren't expecting anything until next week. It seems possible they are going to get them sooner since one guy in Texas reported his FLGS had theirs already, but is seeming less likely. As such... I decided to take my chances with Amazon Prime. If it ships promptly like a few others have reported, I would have it by Friday maybe, and if it slips to Saturday, it might still work out if it comes early enough.
I'm down for playing some Adventures, and/or proxying a few cards if we don't manage to get a real copy, but hopefully we don't have to make that call.

Well, it looks like I definitely missed the weekend on my Amazon shipment, which sucks. It is coming UPS, and will almost certainly be at the Lenexa distribution center this evening, but they have no way for me to pick it up there.
USPS always delivers my Amazon stuff on Saturday, but UPS apparently doesn't.

I'm down to play Adventures tomorrow, and still do Empires in a week, but if that is too much for others we can just push it back. We could easily proxy the Landmarks/Events too if we want.
I'm trying to check on a couple more long shots, so I'll update on that whenever I hear back.

I’ll be at TableTop anyway for the RPGKC monthly game day. If I see people with a shit-ton of Dominion cards, I’ll assume they’re part of this group.

I'm kind of disappointed because I'm actually not going to be able to make it on Saturday. My replacement plans are much better (no offense) - my fiancee and future mother in law are coming into town with my toddler daughter :)

Sorry you can't make it. I think I will try to schedule another next month. I have another friend who wanted to stop by and can't make it this weekend.
It actually looks like June 9th/10th (3 weeks from this weekend) is the only weekend I could make work, so I'll poll for interest in that day sometime after this weekend.

Yeah, the 18th is Free RPG Day, so I'll likely be at Game Café anyway.
July 9 might not be a great day for me either, but with these events, it's probably just best to slam it on a date and see who shows up.
