Which won't be here until after I've seen Age of Ultron. Maybe the weather will clear up and I can drive my Mustang to a golf course? I really don't want to mow the lawn yet.
Cool Stuff Inc for $38.25 shipped. That's like $1.25 for each Kingdom Card and $0.75 for all the Events and Tokens. Worth it!

question on preordering. I'm trying to do mine through amazon and its costing me 45$ base (reasonable) and then another 45$ for shipping and I'm not even doing express or anything. I'm from canada but I figured shipping would still be alright here? Anyone know why its like that?

Right now, it is a third party seller doing the pre-orders. Funagain, I think or something like that. I expect it to be cheaper than Funagain whenever they get in stock. Shipping should also be around whatever you have paid in the past ordering off of Amazon.

Hmm looks like its 80$ though there also. Looks like Canada just has really high shipping from that location. So I guess the question is do I wait till amazon gets some and hope shipping is less or do I splurge because I really want this game.

I think not. But if it were somehow so.. well, pay the $80 if it's worth it to you.
Honestly, I wouldn't trust Funagain to ship and get it to you quicker than you can get it by waiting until it's in actual stock somewhere.

This. I wouldn't really trust Funagain to get it to you any quicker since you are in Canada. I mean, I don't even know anything about Funagain other than they are the only people on Amazon offering preorders.

I ordered from Funagain not because I actually expect to get the thing sooner but because I can check the buy new expansion item off my list now rather than later. Considering it's a mental list and not a written one I just reduced processing overhead or at least made room for the next obsessive thought to take hold. However, if the cost had been $80 I would have rather held onto the sluggish processing power a while longer.

Given the weirdness of Canadian shipping, you might well be better off buying at your FLGS.

According to CoolStuffInc, from whom I ordered Adventures, my copy shipped today and so hopefully I'll be able to play my first game with it come Friday!

So my sad story is I go into my FLGS and ask if I can pre-order Adventures on release day. As in: they run the card, I pay full price (which is known) plus tax (also known) and they text me when it arrives. Nope; cannot do until they can see it as released and available with their distributor. So I turn around and preorder it off the web, for what turns out to be close to a wash after discount plus shipping. But I order from funagain, which does not yet have it in stock, so I probably don't get it by the weekend (my goal).
There is probably some lesson here, but I am not sure what it is.

For $8 shipping, it'll get here next week. If I want it Friday, I have to pay $20. I think I'll just wait for FunAgain to get it in stock, thanks.

Amazon is still not selling Adventures. It is being sold 3rd party by FunAgain. Once Amazon has the game in stock, or has a deal worked out with a supplier, then they will offer Prime.

I've basically fallen out of "board gaming" aside from Dominion because so many places are focused on MtG. I really dislike MtG.

Ah, that would explain it. My store is weird in that we do carry Magic, but just packs. That's apparently incredibly unusual.

Just got my copy! While unwrapping I noticed some interesting things though:
The new cards seem more pliable than previous cards. (Is this just my imagination?)
Cards were sorted by cost rather than alphabetized.
Font for sortation thing was different than normal.
I wonder if these things are results of being printed in U.S. It is kind disappointing but the new card smell makes up for it (a long with the cards of course).

Well, the plastic wrap on the outside seems to be in good condition. The Mrs. has instructed me to finish doing stuff around the house before I'm allowed to open it though...
