i.e. analysis of what's important - the count of upvotes.
Basically, people on the board seem to like funny stuff above other stuff, no?
-
More specifically, people on this board 'respect' memes and poetry more than Dominion analysis.
-
shhh ;)
edit: Also, to prevent this from happening @ Teamliquid.net (star craft site but still)

User was warned for this post
They give warnings to people that post memes and later on ban those that do not heed the warnings.

Hey look, an unbecoming sour grapes thread.

I appreciate your assessment.

This is the feedback forum, so yeah, I think this is appropriate.
OTOH, you can't control what people like. And memes are kind of funny, and strategy posts still get their recognition. It's just this past week or so that memes have been getting all the respect.

Agreed. The spike of new meme/poem/etc. threads have brought in comedy not seen here on the forum in a while. The new comedy is something this site seemed to need and as such it is becoming widely popular. It is kinda like soap operas. Only, this is domination of soap operas.

I appreciate your assessment.
In all seriousness, step back a moment and consider: This is a thread to complain about how people are clicking a button to compliment some posts but not affording you what you feel is your compliment-button-clicking due for other, different posts. "Unbecoming" is putting it rather charitably.

What can you say? People in Dominion, as in life, like to laugh, and so accordingly they like people that make them laugh. They may respect and value serious analysis also, but there's just something about being amused that hits the spot. :)

I actually didn't intend to complain at all. Looking at it now, I can't blame you for reading it that way. But I don't see how you can assume that I wanted more upvotes myself. I haven't written almost anything I'd upvote in several months. And indeed, I upvote funny stuff too, so it's not really intended to be a complaint, though it does somewhat defeat the point of what the upvote system should be IMO. Of course, everyone else can have their opinions, and I don't have a problem with that. And the lack of sortability sans the one little weekly leaderboard has already prevented the thing from being such a useful tool as I'd like, though that's not anyone's fault 'cept the guys who made the software, and I'm not going to complain about them because, a) hey, it's pretty good in general, b) I couldn't do it, c)I have no reason to expect anything from them.
This isn't a thread to complain at all. It was intended as a thread to point out what I thought was ironic. You know, because I like pointing out irony. But you know, you're totally the best moral judge, O great guided, so you're right, I was unbecoming.

You had me pretty much convinced of your sincerity about the other things you were saying until this point. Too bad.

I was sincere about the other stuff. I'm also sincere about thinking that you're being a **** for no apparent reason. But thanks again.

This is quite unbecoming on the both of you.
