I'm here in Lancaster, PA now for the WBC.
Anyone planning on playing Dominion here later in the week?
Even if not, any other f.ds'ers around?
If so let's meet up!

I had no idea the Westboro Baptist Church played Dominion! Maybe I need to reevaluate those guys.

Sweet, I just noticed today that you're running the rftg tourney. I'd love to learn it; maybe I'll drop in and lose a game or two.

How'd it go for you?
I lost badly in the Torturer game in the quarters. The opponents took the peddlers and then the curses, and I didn't really get much lockdown achieved before the game ended :(. I have too much 2P bias.
-
I think I also have too much 2P bias... I lost in the same round as you.
In the first game I got wrecked by the Torturer and dealt with the curses eventually, but started greening too late and came in 4th when the 3rd pile emptied (torturers, curses, bishops?!?!). Point spread was close - 16-13-13-11 (with me being the 11).
I actually wrecked face in the 2nd game of that round, building a very nice goons engine. But they piledrove 3 piles before I had my 2nd multi-goons turn, and I only got 2nd place behind a big-money, early green deck. A 4th place and 2nd place wasn't enough to advance.

2P bias is sooo true. 3-player is relatively similar but 4-player..... ughhh, that just gives me shudders. The amount of times I've lost to bots in a 4-player game because they decided to collectively 3-pile Duchy/Estate/some other pile is enormous. Engines just don't work when they decide to do that.

I pwned the 2nd game in quarters with a bazaar/goons/warehouse/watchtower engine that was very pleasing to execute. But I didn't think a 1st and 4th would advance me, so I mass gamed alien artifacts games against the AI instead of trying to be an alt (which sort of paid off.. :) ).
