So yeah, I just started playing today, and I suck at it. I was just wondering if there's an easy way to start sucking less.

1. Learn MTG.
2. Hearthstone is easy-peasy by comparison :P

Kill minions, not the other guy's face.

I have been playing Legacy competitively for years, but it's an entirely different game. I can't win on turn 1, then my stuff gets killed and I can't even respond with a Force of Will!

I'm getting the hang of it already, currently I'm on rank 16 in ranked. I guess the most important thing that kept losing me games was the fact that I wasn't familiar with the cards so I would empty my hand right before a sweep, use my removal on less important minions, take more caution than necessary even if the opponent doesn't have a way of winning next turn (or vice versa, which is even worse) etc. There are still surprises with some of the rare and better cards that I haven't seen before, of course, and I still lose games for other reasons too (just generally suboptimal play and/or bad shuffle luck), but I win sometimes too!

It's very important to know common plays of other class. Turn 7 flamestrike, lightning storm for shaman. You learn how to force opponents to play play their AoE sub optimally.
