Title: Nomad Camp: a place for people to find their opponents
Post by: ilpars on November 29, 2011, 11:13:04 am
I can not find my opponent who is LexiphanicLemur.
I think our gaming times are too different that we have not at gaming site at the same time.
I have send 2 e-mails from this site but I do not know if they reached him.
Any ideas?

He has not logged into the forum since November 21.  Did you send him private messages on the forum, or did you actually email him directly from the forum?

I e-mailed him from the forum.

I haven't had any response from my opponent noon who I've sent a couple PMs. The problem being that noon doesn't have an email posted on the forum. Does anyone know noon and how to get in touch with him/her?

I e-mailed him from the forum.
Then we'll just have to wait and see, I suppose.

He has it set so that others members cannot email him.  I can see his registration email, of course, but I hesitate to give it out if he's made such a decision.  Let's give it a while longer.

I changed the thread title to make this a public place for opponents to find each other.

Good idea.

I'll wait to hear from noon for a bit, but I'm going away for the weekend, so I hope he gets in touch soon.

My first thought was "Ooh! Doug made a room for us!" ;)

but this is cool too. Good luck finding your opponents, everyone.

It doesn't look like my opponent (yuki_1229) is able to be emailed through the forum, so I sent her a PM a few days ago.  She hasn't logged in to the forum since November 21 but has been on isotropic.  I'm still worried that I may not be able to get in contact with her.

I plan on blasting out an email to everyone still in the tournament (i.e., everyone who has won and everyone who has not yet played) later tonight as a reminder.

I have contacted my opponent (adf), who replied to me by PM, and showed up on the lobby around the times he suggested, but haven't found him yet. Judging by how he replied to me I suppose he is active, and I'm expecting to find him tomorrow, but I worry he might not show up since I don't know if I can become available to play on Sunday...

I just posted this here because of the reminder I received, to let you folks know I'm working on it.

(oh, by the way, how do we report the results once we play our matches?)

After my opponent barsooma stopped responding to my emails, I actually ran into him in the great hall by pure luck. He was afk though. Here's a solitare game once I realized why he kept timing out:

The second round deadline isn't for another week, so I wouldn't worry about that for now.

Dark Force advances in a walkover over bozzball.

permanoob advances in a walkover over barsooma.

Yariv and Arctem both forfeit.

I'd be willing to extend the deadline for one day at the discretion of the walkover opponents.  If they are agreeable, you can still play your match so long as you do it today.

Has anyone seen ma_trix?  Looking to set up a time to play, he hasn't responded to a pm sent about five days ago.

I remember that someone on the forum was friends with Exclams (isotropic username: !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!). If you see this could you let him know I'm trying to get in touch with him to setup our Round 2 match?

Thanks!

Axxle, if you see this, please contact me through PM or (preferably) e-mail to set our round 2 match.

Yariv and Arctem both forfeit.

Does that mean that Stefan_K automatically wins round 2, and we can proceed with our round 3 game?

Arctem actually posted a day later saying that he had conceded to yariv because he didn't show up, so Stefan_k is going to have to play yariv first.

Still haven't heard from manzi. Theory, is it possible for you to email manzi with my email address or something? Would really like to get in touch soon... I can only play my game today or tomorrow (Sunday is out).

Permanoob, if you're reading this, we need to get on with our match.

I've contacted him multiple times now, but i haven't heard back. If he doesn't respond, do I win by default?

I'm having trouble getting in touch with papaHav. No response to messages so far. Anyone know if he's on a trip? Maybe an admin could send him an email?

Me and Ravenheart seem to be having trouble scheduling our match. I sent him a PM at the start of the week asking when he was available, and he responded he was very busy and could only do it at 10pm Singapore time on Sunday evening (which is 3pm my time in Sweden). Unfortunately, Sunday is the one day that doesn't work for me, as it's christmas time at my parents' on that day. I haven't received a response since telling him that.

Anyway I'm sure it'll work out fine, but just a heads up in case our match takes a little while longer to complete than it should. I'm usually available ~16 hours a day every day, so I should be able to make up for lost time pretty easily, should I advance to the next round.

I'm having trouble getting ahold of lolrob.  We talked last weekend and it seemed like it would be pretty easy to find a time before Christmas - I was free all day yesterday and mostly free today - but I haven't heard anything since then.  He played a couple games on Isotropic on Tuesday, but none since then.

I will have trouble playing on the 24th/25th for obvious reasons, so this match might need to get delayed until after Christmas.  If anyone knows how to contact lolrob, that would be awesome.

EDIT: Nevermind, we managed to get it in.

I think we're going to make this a flexible deadline and extend it past Christmas a bit.  Seems too grinchy to DQ players for not playing on Christmas.
